HIKING

Halne is situated in the middle of Hardangervidda and the word Halne means “in the middle of vidda” (vidda = mountain plateau).

From Halne you can walk along the mountain plateau in all directions. Freedom is enjoyed and cherished under an open sky; either by following a path or finding your own way. In any case, we recommend that you bring a map and compass in your backpack. From Halne there are marked trails to the Stigsuv tourist cabin and the DNT cabin Krækkja. It is also popular to take the boat Halnekongen over Halnefjorden. From there you get closer to Heinseter and the DNT cabin Rauhelleren (DNT= The Norwegian Trekking Association).
